Leviathan

*cough* Random picture of Leviathan, as =ShadowSinty requested some time ago while I still was on holiday. To be honest: I still believe that I'm not good at drawing him - compared to the pictures she did of him he looks... strange on mine, and I can't truly explain why. I mean, usually he looks even more strange - this is by far the best picture (and till now the only one that became more than an unfinished sketch) which I did. I should be happy after all, at least I've finally drawn him orz and shouldn't complain too much, as after all the picture did not turn out that way bad to my mind. There are some mistakes in the anatomy I believe... yeah

Actually I really like the colors of this picture (guess what: green ;w; ♥ ), and thanks to Tini who brought me a brand new YG11 Mignoette last week I was able to color it half way right. Truely only half way, as Leviathan's green hair is actually much much brighter, comparable to my character's Mint's main-color. with my shading style however I was barely able to make the shading fit the rest of the picture without making it look way-less shaded and partly even unshaded. Also I do not mind having even more green in there, as it is my favourite color after all C: And I discovered my love for BG75 Abyss Green ;A; ♥ Such a nice color, now I just have to find a way to shade it without making it look way too streaky *glares to Leviathan's clothes* I need a darker shade of BG or G I believe, G29 didn't work out too well after all :/

I tried out random stuff with the background... The first thing I added were those feather's, apparently no Angel feather's - at least not white ones. As Leviathan is a demon white feathers definately does not fit him. Oh well... :shrugs:
Afterwards I added those... square-pattern. Those were quite funny to do with markers, as I often saw how the darker color bled into the white parts and made me go nuts while being unable to prevent it. Now, after having added some shading, it's not that easy to spot anymore, still... it wasn't nice to watch this orz In general however it was quite interesting to add a pattern "by hand" - usually I use those in Photoshop, by simply using some options of Photoshop. Heh... I was like: fff... another line, and another - just one more square dang it! D8< Digital artworks have their benefits for sure.
That gradient thing in the background first was supposed to be purely plach, but I believed that would make the picture too dark - probably it would eat a lot of details as well, so I decided to make a gradient from black to red and then yellow in the end Germany reference? Not intended to be honest! XD, kind of to reference to Kyo and fire - after all Leviathan and Kyo kind of belong together... o^o;; Yeah... *cough*

Leviathan usually uses daggers, somehow I wanted to draw him with a hidden blade though. Bet I played too much Assassin's Creed recently... oh well, I'm just killing time until I can lay my hands on Prototype 2 *coughcough* five more days *coughcough*

Guess that's it for now, I should head to bed as well. Work tomorrow, and I better not miss it! 8D;
And I should seriously continue on that unfinished BFOI Apps... orz...
