[Collab] Summer Days

Looking at Seto's arm today I feel like it needs more colour and shading - just like Mary's one arm. Will take care of it after university! o^o

Hello folks, it's been a while and I'm terribly sorry for being gone for almost two weeks ;A;

The last two weeks have been rather rough on my side, mainly because a lot of uncomfortable situations decided to come at me at the very same time (mainly a lot of hand-ins were due at university and the death of my 12 year old rabbit >: ), yeh... enough whining! I handed in my English skilled work with a total of 40 pages last Saturday, the only thing left for me to do now is... giving the actual presentation on Thursday, and then this semester is - aside from the exam period - over!! Yaaaaay

I was rather busy with university ever since I finished my last commission and I barely drew a thing in this time. As some sort of stress relief I decided to look for a neat lineart on deviantArt to color in between my study sessions, and I stubled about Leaf-19's lovely Mary x Seto lineart. I recently watched the anime and pretty much liked all of the characters, so I wanted to do something related to the series after all o^o I believed that doing something traditional, especially when using my colored pencils instead of my markers, would be nice, so I printed it out and colored it only using my beloved Polychromos.
While coloring I noticed that I lack some colors I would've needed for this picture... For example a really really light yellow which would be not too yellow-ish... *drop* or some other shades of gray or colors to shade skin properly. Other than that everything worked out fine, I believe ouo
I was just way too scared to do an actual background on this picture, I didn't even dare to do some sort of gradients traditionally, so - instead - I tried out getting something decent done using Photoshop. I'm actually glad that I decided to do so instead of doing it traditionally, because in the beginning the main color of the background was supposed to be either yellow or orange. And it looked weird... Sheesh... with this light blue colors in the background it actually looks better. I might try to add it traditionally as well, however I'm still afraid I might ruin the overall picture... :/

Actually that's all for now. I don't think I'll be that active any time soon though as my exam period is about to begin and I really need to study for it u__u I still want to try to finish an entry for CofL-fee's contest in time, and I'd also like to do a FIFA related picture again (I should hurry up with those aah). So yeah, if I manage to do so there'll be more arts soon òwó I'll give my best >w<;;
