Description

Day 12 of 30:

Aline Ruben

So.damn.much.traditional.artworks.recently. :facepalm: You guys must have me for spamming lol

Anyways, one more completed, what still leaves me with not even being half way done at all. To view my process of completing all the work out of this challenge (sketches are the minimum that I've done so far), go here (yet uncolored pieces are not counted in): [link]

Too much sobbing already, duh... xD I should be happy to have so many things to color, definately improves my traditional skills and my coloring =) Like this picture to be honest. I rarely fill the whole page with colors, and if I do most often I either kill some of my markers or start to work sloppy after a certain amount of time. As the coloring of this picture was most often interrupted by my work I had to spent more than two days on it also focussing on other things in between (Connichi, visiting my boyfriend, get to the customs to pick up the Darkrai plush, room rearrangements after taking over Ikea, buying and watching The Avengers on DVD) I actually did not feel like having the need to "finally" finish off this one. To sum this incredible long sentence up: I actually worked on this picture for more days, yet I did not spent too much hours working on this picture per day. I should work like this more often, seriously - the results are worth it XD

I'm really happy about most parts of this picture. Especially Aline's hair and her dress - even if it was meant to have a different color - appeal to me now that it's finished. Doing those two things was painful and time taking, as I had to watch out not to draw over the lines and also not too add too many colors to the paper making it end up all stoky and strange-looking. I'm glad that everything worked out as planned, the parts where I drew out of the lines a little were all eaten up by the background making it look so damn clean >w< Lucky me ♫♪~

I also start to like the background more and more. At first, when I had just finished the marble wall, I was a little disappointed. I took a reference picture of a real marble wall to add some pattern and structure to it, however it just looked strange to me. Adter having finished the sky (god, that gradient took long =___=; ) I started to like it, and in the end I got rather found of it.

Guess I don't have too much else to say about this picture... I should start working on the next one as soon as possible, as university is approaching taking huge steps and I doubt I'll have too much time left for coloring stuff once it has begun ;w; *looks at forecasted week-scedule, which does only contain out of university and work and very very less free time* I'll miss drawing *sob*

Next one will probably be the Art Trade picture I owe to :icon101-1101:, but I'm not so sure yet o^o;

PS.: It's someway intended that the dress is brighter in the middle :dummy:
